This crime stoppers program began in 1982 from the efforts of the City Commission and Police Department in Pampa, Texas, forming Pampa/Gray County Crime Stoppers. In 2016, P/GC Crime Stoppers and neighboring Wheeler County Crime Stoppers agreed to a merger, forming Top of Texas Crime Stoppers, and also added Roberts County to the program. We operate as an independent 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. The concept has developed into a combination of efforts by local media, businesses, civic and social clubs, law enforcement agencies, and the public. Donations of airtime, newspaper space, and reward monies have established Crime Stoppers as an effective tool to fight crime in the area. Top of Texas Crime Stoppers works throughout Gray, Roberts, Wheeler Counties in the Texas panhandle area.
Top of Texas Crime Stoppers is a community program operated by local citizens, involving the public and media in aiding area law enforcement agencies in the fight against crime. By means of donations, fundraisers, and special events they are able to offer cash rewards and anonymity to persons who furnish information leading to felony charges filed, recovery of stolen property, and/or arrest of criminal offenders.
